An Update on COVID-19
Dear Pet Parents:
The health and safety of our patients, their owners, and our staff are of the highest priority. Give the recent significant rise in COVID-19 cases in Knox County, especially the West Knoxville area, we have made the decision to continue all of our safety protocols in place until further notice. At that time, we will reassess the status of the health crisis & make the necessary adjustments to our protocols. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.
Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Many of you have probably seen the news reports of a very small number of pets that have tested positive for COVID-19. We want to assure you that we are keeping current with this ever-evolving situation. At this time, it is NOT recommended to routinely test animals for this disease. If you have reason to believe that your pet may have been exposed to the virus, please feel free to call us to discuss your situation. For further information on pets and the SARS-CoV2 virus, please visit the AVMA website.
Our ongoing COVID-19 Safety protocols are as follows:
- We will continue our increased sanitation protocols throughout the clinic. All surfaces (including door handles, seating, etc) in exam rooms are thoroughly sanitized between every patient, common areas are sanitized more frequently, personal sanitation practices have been increased, and hand sanitizer is available for use at the front desk.
- We are limiting access to our building to employees only at this time, with a few exceptions for extenuating circumstances (such as bereavement). We ask that when you arrive at the hospital, please call the front desk at 865-693-8212 to notify us that you have arrived. Someone from the medical staff will then contact you by phone to discuss the details of your visit, before coming out to bring your pet into the hospital while you wait in your car. At the conclusion of your visit, we will be taking credit card payments over the phone and the medical staff will discuss with you any findings of the exam.
- At this time, we are not keeping preventive medications (heartworm, flea & tick medications) in stock at the clinic. These medications are available for purchase through our online store for home delivery. You can access our store here.
- If you are in need of any daily medication refills, we will be taking payment over the phone when the medication is ordered & will bring it out to your car when you come to pick it up. You 1 can also utilize our online store for home delivery if you would rather not get out.
Until further notice, we will not be scheduling any non-emergent surgical procedures.
Thank you for your patience at this time.
